Privacy Policy

The short version

Typeahead runs entirely on your Mac. Your keystrokes, text, and suggestions never leave your computer. We have no servers that process your data, no telemetry, and no analytics inside the app. The only information we hold is what you give us when you buy a license.

Who we are

Typeahead is developed and operated by Noats Inc. (“we,” “us,” “our”). You can reach us at hello@typeahead.ai.

Information we collect

At purchase

When you buy Typeahead, Stripe (our payment processor) collects your payment details and email address. We receive:

• Your email address
• A Stripe customer ID
• Transaction metadata (date, amount, currency)

We use your email to deliver your license key, send purchase receipts, and contact you about critical product updates (e.g. macOS compatibility). We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

At activation

When you activate your license, the app sends a one-time request to verify your license key. This is the only network call Typeahead makes. No usage data, device identifiers, or personal information is transmitted.

During use

Typeahead processes all text locally using on-device language models. Your writing never touches a server. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no analytics, and no usage tracking of any kind.

macOS Accessibility API

Typeahead uses the macOS Accessibility API to read the text you type and insert autocomplete suggestions. This is the same API used by screen readers and other assistive technologies. The Accessibility permission is required for Typeahead to function, but the data it accesses is processed entirely on-device and is never stored, logged, or transmitted.

How we use your information

The limited information we collect is used to:

• Deliver and activate your license
• Send purchase receipts
• Provide customer support when you contact us
• Notify you of critical updates (e.g. macOS version compatibility)

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

We use two external services:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
• Sparkle — update checking. Typeahead periodically checks for software updates via the Sparkle framework. This transmits only the app version number and your macOS version to our update server. No personal data is included.

Data retention

We retain your email and license information for as long as your license is active, so we can provide support and deliver updates. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw any consent you’ve given

Children’s privacy

Typeahead is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of Typeahead after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
